Lucas Hinch, 37, was cited in Colorado Springs on Monday night after police say he fired eight bullets into the computer he has been "fighting with for several months."
Authorities said the computer was "effectively disabled."
Police say Hinch shot the computer with a handgun in an alley near the 2200 block of West Colorado Avenue at about 7 p.m.
In an interview, Hinch told the Los Angeles Times he has no regrets.
"It was glorious," he told the newspaper. "Angels sung on high."
Hinch was ticketed for discharging a firearm in the city's limits, police said.
