Shooting Near Nordstrom Sees Multiple People Gunned Down Inside Mall, A shooting near a Nordstrom in an Illinois mall saw multiple people gunned down on Thursday night.

The Oak Brook Police Department said in a press release that the incident occurred at about 5:44 p.m. local time "on the second floor in the Nordstrom wing, near Ann Taylor at Oakbrook Center." 

Police said that while inside the mall, two suspects and a third "companion" were involved in a confrontation, which resulted in an exchange of gunfire. An Oak Brook police officer was working a security detail in the Nordstrom when the gunfire began and immediately responded to the scene.

According to police, one of the suspects was hit by four gunshots to the legs and back. The suspect that was shot was described by police as a male in his 40s. Three victims also suffered gunshot wounds, including two females in their 40s shot in the leg and one female in her 20s shot in the foot. A third female in her 20s suffered an ankle injury while attempting to run from the gunfire, police said.

"The gunshot victims are at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, while the female with the fractured ankle is at Elmhurst Hospital," the Oak Brook Police Department said in the release.

Police immediately rendered aid to the suspect that was shot four times and transported him to a hospital. According to police, the suspect underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
