Tori Spelling Suing Benihana Restaurants Over Alleged Slip-and-Fall Grill Burn

Tori Spelling Suing Benihana Restaurants Over Alleged Slip-and-Fall Grill Burn, Actress Tori Spelling is suing Benihana restaurants, alleging that she was badly burned after slipping and falling on a hot grill at one of the hibachi chain’s locations in California.

In court papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, the 42-year-old “Beverly Hills: 90210” star said that while dining on Easter Sunday at a Benihana in Encino, she fell onto a grill and suffered a severe burn to the back of her right arm.

The court documents claimed Spelling “sustained deep second- and third-degree burn injuries requiring hospitalization and surgery” leading to wage loss, hospital and medical expenses, general damage and “loss of earning capacity.”Spelling accuses the restaurant of negligence in her court papers, and asks for a jury trial. The documents indicate she is seeking more than $25,000 in compensatory damages.

Spelling, who has four children, apparently had injuries that were so severe that she reportedly had to have skin grafts, according to the Daily News. She has been photographed in public wearing bandages and a protective cover on her arm.

After the incident, Spelling posted a photo of herself and dinner companions on Instagram, writing: “Thanks for an amazing day@scoutmasterson and @thebillhornPerfect #Easter Sunday! Aside from the Benihana Burn!”

Neither Spelling nor the restaurant chain would comment to ABC News regarding the lawsuit.
