Robot Kills Man Volkswagen, Automaker Volkswagen says a robot has executed a foreman at one of its generation plants in Germany.
A representative for VW says the man kicked the bucket Monday at the plant in Baunatal, around 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of Frankfurt.
Heiko Hillwig said Wednesday the 22-year-old was a piece of a group that was setting up the robot when it snatched and pulverized him against a metal plate.
Hillwig said starting conclusions demonstrate that human slip was at fault, instead of an issue with the robot.
German news office dpa reported that prosecutors were considering whether to bring charges, and assuming this is the case, against whom.
