Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One information revealed

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One information revealed, The Star Wars universe is about to expand even further with the introduction of Star Wars Anthology films.

Speaking at the Star Wars Celebration in California, director Gareth Edwards announced on Sunday that the upcoming stand-alone films will now be referred to as “Star Wars Anthology.” To give you an idea how this will work, the upcoming Rogue One film will now be known as Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One.

Speaking of the first Anthology film, the genesis of the film was given in detail, and it actually started from an idea from John Knoll of ILM. He requested a meeting with Kathleen Kennedy after she took over the leadership of Lucasfilm and he described his idea for the story. Thinking it was a great place to start, she took him up on it.

During the presentation it was revealed that the film takes place between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. A trailer was then shown that featured Alec Guinness’ dialogue explaining who the Jedi were as a camera sweeps through a forest, panning up as a TIE Fighter flies over. As the camera left the trees you see the original Death Star in orbit around a planet and voices screaming like they’re in a battle. The trailer has not been officially released, but a fan shot it with their phone and immediately published it to YouTube.
