Billy Hamilton injured

Billy Hamilton injured, Billy Hamilton came into Bryan Price's office on Sunday and told his manager he was available for anything.

Hamilton left Saturday's game with the Cardinals in the eighth inning with a sore right groin and was not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale, but said he's ready and hoped to be in the lineup for Monday's game in Milwaukee.

"It's just sore. That's about it," Hamilton said before Sunday's game. "It's better today, I can move around better today, that's a good thing."

Price said the Reds will be careful, especially in St. Louis where it rained much of Sunday.

"He's definitely a useable piece at this point," Price said before Sunday's game. "We had him outside, running around. He'll hit indoors. I think he'll be pretty close to a full-go. I don't know if the conditions here are ones you want to put him into. I don't think there's really a concern of re-injury. I don't think he's in that position where he would easy to re-injured the same part of his body. I think he's fine right now to play."

Hamilton said he initially feared the injury was worse than it turned out to be, but was relieved by the way he felt on Sunday.

"My legs are my gift," Hamilton said in a vast understatement.

Hamilton added he dealt with a similar groin soreness last season and was able to play through it.
